Organise Publisher's Description
If you have a mac and a small business then this small but powerful database application will keep track of your orders, stock, customer details, 'to do' list and has some basic invoice and accounting functionality. My ethos is to keep things as uncomplicated and quick to use as possible, leaving you free to run your business with all information at your fingertips.
It uses the xml file format for its database, therefore Organise is small, self-contained and standalone. It doesn't require you to buy, licence or install any other database application. The xml format is open and accessible so your information is available to other applications. In addition, Organise can export your data to a csv file which can be opened in a spreadsheet application such as Excel.
More Detail
- Contacts - Contacts may be Suppliers / Customers / Other. Store all of the usual details - address, phone numbers, email etc. Searchable by keyword.
- Orders - Each sale, project, commission or order has an entry in this list. All details of the order - status, details, financial details - are stored here. Each order can be linked to a contact from the contact list. Searchable by keyword. With all of these details stored, producing an invoice is as easy as pressing a button, and accounts can be easily generated for any time period.
- Bill of Materials - For each order you can create a list of materials. This can either be a list of materials required to complete the order, or a list of items that constitue the order. In the latter case these items can be picked from the 'Items' list (see below) and listed on the invoice. Items - allows you to store information about stock, products or services, and broadens the range of businesses to which Organise will be useful. The manual contains some example scenarios.
- To Do - keep a 'checkbox' to do list with completion dates.
- Accounts - basic accounting : shows 'invoices out' (drawn from the orders) and 'invoices in'. You can pick dates to show a week's, month's or year's invoices and print off the information.

- Improved Support : use a web form to send questions, bugs found or enhancement requests.
- Company contacts : ability to enter companies with a number of contacts at that company.

- Notepad : quickly jot down notes, telephone numbers etc. (included in 1.2 but undocumented)
- Items : Products are now called 'Items'. No changes made to the functionality, just titles and labels have been changed.
- Facelift : Big friendly icon buttons.
- New fields : Items; 'On hand qty' - default for existing and new records is "1". Orders; 'sent' checkbox. Contacts; new tab and large text area for comments. a A number of new fields on the new 'Invoices Received' record and a number of new fields on the new 'Company' record
- A number of small fixes and tidy-ups
